

Students will learn how to perform and evaluate routine laboratory tests. Students will also learn how to use capillary sticks and perform venipuncture procedures. Students will learn the elementary chemistry necessary to perform blood testing-such as obtaining blood samples for hematocrits and differential counts from blood smears, staining procedures, and blood typing with extended lab time. They will learn how to identify possible reactions and recognize adverse reactions to particular drugs.
